Quality leaves much to be desired...
I've eaten take out from Watchung several times and rather enjoyed it. Granted its been 5 years- the ratings here were encouraging so we thought we would give it another go. Utterly disappointed. The chicken in the lo mein is slimey and not likely chicken at all, the beef in the beef and broccoli is slimey and chewy. The broccoli was fresh and cooked really well and the sauces are tolerable though the noodles have little flavor. For the price you can pick up from Anywhere else and feel like you haven't poisoned your body.

We love Wahchung
We love the food from Wahchung for 20 years! They have the most delicious sesame chicken. Other family favorites are the dumplings (meat or veggie, fried or steamed all equally yummy), the cold sesame noodles and General Tso's chicken. They are always friendly, fast and use excellent ingredients. Only once in all these years did we get a sesame chicken, where the meat had some tendon pieces. Other than that we always had prime quality white meat chicken consistently.

Beware of the mystery ingredients in the food
For those who are health conscience, please be careful eating food from this restaurant. When one orders SHRIMP IN LOBSTER sauce, one expects shrimp and lobster. Watchung Restaurant Cinese PUTS PORK in this dish. Is pork the substitute for lobster? This is a dangerous situation for those allergic, for those who do not eat red meat or for those whose religion forbids to eat filthy pork The ingredients of the dishes are NOT listed in the menu. When we called to question mysterious chunks in LOBSTER SAUCE we were told by the restaurant’s personnel that EVERY CHINESE PERSON knows that this dish has pork in it. Well, wake up: WE ARE IN MONTCLAIT, NJ, USA not in CHINA.

Quality Chinese
This is one of the best chinese places aroud. Chicken and beef are good quality and i've never looked at my food wondering if its really what they say it is (like other chinese places)

Wanted to love it
After reading the reviews I decided to check it out. Honestly I wanted to love it but was disappointed. There was too much breading on the sesame chicken and the egg roll was just ok. Usually with white meat sesame chicken there is little breading. This may be personal preference. On a positive note the staff was very pleasant and helpful.

I have been getting food from this place for over twenty years and I have eaten in some of the best chinese restaurants in New Jersey and New York City and this Wahchung is still one of my favorites. The service is great and the food is awesome.
