Best burgers
The owner Gus is such a great guy, so happy that he parted With his partner Steve. Steve was a wonderful man. His wife and daughter not nice at all. As long as they were working I wouldn't go. With Gus or Steve yes I would go and eat. Gus's daughter it's always a pleasure to see her always has a smile on her.

I have NEVER had a bad meal. We have been going here for years for breafast, lunch and dinner and the food is always perfect and fresh! I know the one owner does all the cooking, you cant get home cooked fresh meals like this anywhere else! The owner and his wife are so friendly and make you feel like your family.

amazing blueberry pancakes
the whole diner is great, i have been going there for years. they keep all their ingredients very fresh, especially their blueberry pancakes! thats the only breakfast i eat their, its amazing

I love coming to the Char-Broil for lunch they make the best grilled chicken over greek salad. The chicken don't know what they season it with but it is so good... The owners Steve & Gus are wonderful not to mention Elizabeth who is a pleasure to talk to very sweet and pleasant girl! The waitresses are wonderful. Not a pleasurable experience
Went at 8PM on a Sat night. we were the only people in the restaurant. A very nice waitress took our orders. A burger and meatloaf(I just wanted meatloaf). she got a burger with some really great steak fries, I got disgusting frozen dinner meatload with canned mushrooms and oily jarred gravy. Not to mention boxed mash potatoes and microwaved broccoli. To make matters worse at 815 they were sweeping and cleaning UNDER OUR TABLE and putting chairs up. We ate about 1/4 of our dinners, felt uncomfortable and left. I threw my leftovers out on the way home. Maybe they are better for breakfast? Uptown Bistro has a way better burger

I have been coming to the Charcoal Broil for many years. Even before when it was called Louvis. My family & I we love coming here to eat everyone is so kind. My grand kids call the owner grandpa Gus he is such a great guy. Not to mention that the food is also very good the greek salad and burgers are the best. The greek lemon chicken now that is my favorite soup of all.

Great family place
We have been taking out kids there since they were babies, over 10 years now. Every time we walk in the door we are treated like family. Our kids always find something they like to eat on the menu and we do to, standard diner fare and great soups.

The Best
I must say today was the first time that I came to the Montclair Charcoal Broil. A few of my friends recommended me to come here. They were right. I had lemon chicken soup and it was really good. I had a toss salad you can tell that it was really fresh not like these other place and you only get a few piece of lettuce. I had a cheese burger dlx now tha'ts a burger. All the staff is really nice. I'm so happy that I came here and I shall be back. Keep up the great job guys!!!

I have been coming here since I was a teenager when it was Louvis's. This also sort of like a historical place. Since 1923 they use to make homemad candies, ice cream, ..But I must say this place is still the best hamburgers best in town. Greek Salads are awesome. You go to these other place and their salads look so sloppy or what ever. But here you can tell it's fresh and that the owner really cares for his business. Lemon Chicken soup all of my family loves it. All homemade soups from scratch. The lentil is my favorite of all. Keep up the great job!!!

I must say that the Montclair Charcoal Broil has the best hamburgers. I was on a business trip and a friend of mine recommended this place. Boy was he right!!! The staff is great. To the owners of Montclair Charcoal Broil keep up the wonderful job. God Bless
